Vedic astrology is one that has been dated back to about 4000 years during Vedic times, and is basked on nine planets and is an Indian form of astrology. These planets are the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Kethu.

In this astrology there are twenty-seven constellations that are recognized, this astrology has been divided into houses, which are:

The 1^st house, Ascendant and signifies life, health, nature, it also fortells of sorrow, and profit.
The 2^nd house, is for finances, family childhood, family, lawsuits and inheritance.
The 3^rd house, is for siblings, courage, intelligence, education, journeys, contracts as well as parts of the body, arms, shoulders and the right ear.
The 4^th house, is for mothers, domestic happiness old age, false allegations as well as the chest, lungs, stomach and joints.
The 5^th house, is for children, intellect, status, luck, love, it also stands for kidnap, the parts of the body are the heart, liver and spleen.
6^th house is one of enemies, health, fathers, debts, mental worries, theft, calamity, and it is for the kidneys and large intestine.
7^th house, this is for partnership, husband and wife, marriage, love, contract, legal, divorce, honor and for the body the glands.
8^th house, this is for disease and death, long life, mental pain, obstacles, imprisonment, worries, and the private parts of the body.
9^th house, is for religion, travel, luck, education, wisdom, prosperity, foresight and for the body, the hips and thighs.
10^th house, professions, station in life, activities, pleasure, honor, and power, parts of the body, knees, joints, the back and hair.
11^th house, is for wealth, siblings, friends, money gain, emotions, love, social success and for the body, legs, ankles and the left ear.
12^th house, is for enemies, law suits, imprisonment, illness, sorrow and debt, the parts of the body are feet, teeth and eyes.

Vedic astrology can be divided into three parts, the Siddhanta that is astronomy, Hora is astrology and Vaastu Shaatra is animals and omens.

The largest difference in this astrology system is the zodiac planets are measured and the stars are a fixed background in this type of divination. The motion of the sun is measured against the planets at the Spring equinox. Making this far different from what is known as western astrology, along with the addition of houses which have the body parts included as well as other items that do not appear in the meanings of what today is thought of as traditional zodiac signs.
