Tarot - The Major Arcana |
Tarot Cards:The Major arcana consists of twenty-two cards from the tarot deck and hold a greater weight in a tarot reading than other cards, and often tell in a reading of challenges and rewards that have come or will come to pass and together with other cards enable an entire story to be told by the tarot card reader. The Major arcana begins with the Fool, the Magician, the High Priestess, the Empress and as these cards are laid out they can have a different meaning in the reading should they come from the deck up side down or as called in a reading reversed. These cards are used in readings for emotions and personality; they will show the reader the deepest hopes, fears and dreams of the person that the reading is being done. In some readings these cards of the Major Arcana can be used to represent principals, concepts or ideals and they give a more specific meaning during the reading. As the tarot deck is very old and there are many different decks the meanings of the Major Arcana have traveled the test of time and still fit situations today when they appear in a reading. |
